The tragic death of Peaches Geldof:

Something didn't sit right with the death of this clever, smart, and beautiful socialite, no one dies at the age of 25 without some probable cause...and if they do how is this possible? How was it not stopped? And even more importantly who is to blame?

Having been to school with Geldof's youngest daughter Peaches' death felt very close to home making the reality of it even more sudden and shocking. The amount of public apologies this family has received also undermines any emotions they may be feeling as they are totally in the public eye. I can't say i'm not guilty of exposing myself over social media because I am, I am a very dedicated tweeter, facebook user and even instagram poster and therefore feel that to shun people who have chosen to tweet their apologies to the family for this great loss would be most hypocritical.

However in the age of technology you would think people would rather use the phone to send condolences rather than tweet them to the whole world would you not? Well apparently not, Peaches has received thousands of 'RIP' messages and 'We will miss you angel', which begs the question how well these people actually knew her and if its seen as support or irritation when they send these messages out. Peaches appeared on this mornings segment about attachment parenting where she went head to head with Katie Hopkins in a heated debate on how is best to bring up your children, Peaches appeared composed and loving, months later this tragedy, Holly Willouby expressed her condolences which was later deemed as appropriate as she was one of the few people that had actually the pleasure of meeting Peaches. Others tweeted, 'I never met her but RIP', its hard to understand how something that insincere can be made to look like support.

I find it difficult to understand also how people are automatically assuming this was the case of a drug overdose. Twitter has either been bombarded with loving messages or hurtful accusations which could destroy the family as such a delicate time. The family has a background of depression, divorce and also drug use however surely that is a private matter and although when you live your life in the public eye some things are just too close to home. Peaches dramatically turned her life around when she became pregnant with the first of her children Astala of whom is nearly two, she went from a party socialite to a doting mother and therefore proved any accusations that she was going to turn into her mother wrong. However what happened to lead the events of her life to this? Post mortem results will come in and will no doubt shock everyone and unfortunately that will be something else this poor family has to face. Peaches will forever be in my eyes pinnacle of youth, fashion and hope, and it is with my greatest prayers that social media doesn't tarnish her reputation as a wonderful mother despite its apparent need to destroy what is already broken.
